ok the 90-91 clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel will work on the 92up
but the throwout bearings are not the same..

89 will work with a 89 fly wheel (its smaller)

88 will not work at all

yes it will!!!

90-2000 1.6 sohc all have the same clutch and flywheel
and all 89-2000 sohc .. even the 1.5.. can use the 1.6 clutch if you use the a 90up flywheel

NO, the 90-91 and 92-93 transmissions are different and the clutch disks are not interchangeable.

88 clutches are physically smaller at ~ 7 and 7/8" on the disc material whereas the 89+ clutches were in the 8 3/8 range.

89 d16a6 20 splines 200mm clutch disc
90 - 91 d16a6 20 splines 212mm clutch disc
92 - 95 d16z6 20 splines 212mm clutch disc
96 - 00 d16y8 20 splines 212mm clutch disc

you can put a 89 clutch clutch/pressure plate/flywheel on a 2000 if you want..
or put a 2000 clutch/pressure plate/flywheel on a 89...

Lets assume nothing you own or are going to buy is made for an 88 civic. As long as you use the appropriate flywheel size to the right clutch size, you're fine. Right now I have a 1993 d16z6 with 1993 d16z6 flywheel and 1993 d16z6 clutch on a 1990 LX cable trans with 1990 LX cable trans t-o bearing. Its stiff and engauges low, but that could be the shitty cable design coupled with 17 years of wear. Bottom line is that it works when any 89+ D15/D16 motor is mated to a clutch/flywheel 'matched' combo to the t-o bearing meant for the transmission in the car.

I clicked on this thread wondering why it got so big. Answer: people can't type in 5 more words to make their posts crystal clear. It also doesn't help they regurgitate wrong info.

USDMej1 is the only one that disagreed and then starts talking about the 88 being defferent... everone in the post said 89 and up.. most of us start off messing d series back in the day and know this info by hard.. i even show the guy links to act site which comfrim that the 89 and up and all teh same.. and he still disagrees.. sorry USDMej1 but you confussed the hell out of this guy..
