I have been reading up on a few useful threads about this install but looking at my driver's side fender area near the clutch fluid reservoir, I don't see a "Dead End" connector as referred to by a few of the threads.

Is this "Dead End" connector located somewhere else in my engine bay?

 

on the OBDII models, the "dead plug" or "dummy plug" is located under the intake manifold, not on the drivers side shock tower area like on OBDI cars

some people on the OBDII cars just grab the individual wires right there at the injector, run them over to the resistor box and then back to the injector

Thats what I did on my 99.

back on topic, i just went through hell wiring in a resistor box in my 99-00 ek hatch. the dead-end plug is underneath the intake manifold. there are two dead-end plugs, however. you'll need to use the one with the 6 yellow/black wires and 6 solid black wires. be sure to check for continuity from the ylw/blk wires at the injector plugs and the ylw/blk wires at the dead-end plug. you'll use 4 out of the 6. the remaining two ylw/blk wires, twist them together and run them to the red wire coming from the resistor box. as for the remaining black wires, twist them together, apply solder and tape it out of the way. those black wires are grounds.
i made the mistake of following the obd1 wiring instructions to wire-in my resistor box and couldnt figure out wth was causing my fuses to blow.

btw, itll be ALOT easier if you pull your engine harness off of your engine to do this.

 

Get a thermal reusable intake manifold gasket. That's what I did and it made it less-painless to remove the intake manifold so many times. Hooking it up to the clips works as well.

 

So, by looking at this diagram, it seems to me that it is just way easier to get some bullet connectors and wire the resistor box directly to injectors as opposed to finding, checking for continuity and depinning the dummy plug under the intake manifold, right? It may not be a clean and stealthy as a dummy plug but it'll serve it's purpose.

i just went to radio shack and bought 4 10watt 10ohm resistor and soldered them onto each wire individualy. then i used shrink wrap to make it all look neet.

 

That idea crossed my mind cuz I have a handful of 10ohm resistors laying around from my Electronics class but I bought a Chrom chipped p06 for VTEC, dsm 450s (blue tops) and a resistor box for $150. Might as well use the box cuz I have it.
