Default My under dash wiring is a complete mess, please help?

I received this car with an alarm installed. I started seeing this piece of cabling hanging down from under the dash. I had to remove the steering column panel when I changed my hood but I see a bunch of cables all taped up.

Is it supposed to look like this? What can I do to better manage these cables?

Looks like all aftermarket wiring to me. Just slowly go through it and get rid of what you dont need.

How much of that is normally related to my alarm?

slowly un-tangel and see where the wire go to. It looks like the shock sensor. Post this in the car audio-security and we can help you better.

hard to tell if those are wires for your alarm since they are all covered up, but it probably is.

Could that be as much of a mess as mine??

not really anything to worry about in the way of causing problems but with the alarm wiring right there it makes it easier to disable the alarm. So if your worried about your car being stolen, reloacting the alarm might help. I plan to do mine soon.
