CIVIC 92-95 NEW ALLOY WHEEL / SUSPENSION HELP!!!!!
Hey guys,
Ok i DESPERATELY need help!
I have a 1994 Honda CIVIC (EG
) and ive bought some 17" alloy wheels and also 16 £50 nuts seperately just to fit onto my civic! Anyway when i put them on there is at least 2-3 inches gap from the arches all the way round but they rub against the Wheels arches when going round corners and over road humps etc no matter how much i slow down.
The only time they Don't rub is when im driving on a smooth, level road but of course all roads aren't like that!!
SO, how do i overcome the problem? Can i do anything with the car AS IT IS i.e. with its Stock parts?? I have to say the suspension is quite bouncy/soft at the moment as standard.... I dont want to spend anymore money but if i have to please suggest something cheap!
Ive taken them off for now cause they where getting damaged... but They look soooooo good i HAVE to get them on my Civic!! Been after these wheels for a year now and finally found em!
If anyone could help me out i know its got to be you guys on Honda-Tech!!!!!
Thanks in advance.
Oh here is the wheel specs:
Rim Width: 7J
Rim Diameter: 17 inches
Tyre Width: 205
They are quite wide but not too wide that they stick out much past the arches(
)
Thanks.

Hi, thanks for your reply,
Do you mean i JUST need new STIFFER springs??
Do i need shocks aswell?
Can i just replace my stock / standard springs with new stiffer ones? Is it a 1 day job?

you're offset on the wheels stick out too much....ure options are as follows:
1. get a set of coil overs and raise ure car a lot.
2.roll fenders and quarter panels.
3. get some smaller wheels.
personally i would go with 2 or 3

Hi,
For option 1 do you men i need new ADJUSTABLE shocks (to raise car height?) with coiled springs? OR just Coiled spring but much stiffer and longer (therefore higher?).
Option 2 sounds like Huge work and modification to the body!
option 3 .......well i love these wheels there MUST be another way around the problem!?
Thanks keep your suggestions coming - all appreciated.
