so im about to get this civic eg hatch with swapped motor/tranny , are there any specific documents he should provide me with when selling the car , do the vins have to be matched/registered and etc?
the car has 8pt cage if i get into an accident would i have problems with insurance because it would be my daily driver ...

Check with your local DMV.

 

check with DMV good idea, as well with ur insurance company, dont tell them u have done the cage just ask if you do do it
