i took sections of a 55 gallon drum, flattened them, and beat the ever loving **** out of them with a hammer until they looked like i wanted them to. welded them in, fiberglass for sealing and base, skin coats of bondo with mass amounts of sanding. everything in the workspaces will look like it was snowing. and rattle can. came out bitchin

Sweet thanks. I bought the quarters through a company called Veng(Keystone) and they were only $34 a piece. But thanks for the link on how to do it. This is what they look like before:

They do more with over the counter sales. I got a catalog because I walked in and asked for one.

One thing that I have been wanting to try on a car is attaching rust repair panels with panel adhesive. I have heard of it being used more and more. Even heard that car manufacturers are approving of repairs done in this way. http://www.autobody101.com/for...t=por

It goes like this. Make the cutout on your car slightly smaller than the panel so the panel will overlap. Use a flanging tool from http://www.eastwood.com and make a flange all the way around the hole you cut out of your car. This creates a recess for the repair panel to sit flush. Then use the panel adhesive (see eastwood)and glue the repair panel in the flange. Use a good quality filler on the outside and seam selaler on the inside. Advantages are a seam that is completely sealed and water tight, no need to grind the existing paint down to bare metal which adds to future rust resistance, no heating of the metal and the possibility of warping panels, less working to get the repair ready to paint.

Welding is good, but if you are not skilled it can be a challenge to weld on a car in an area that will be painted and visible. Very easy to **** it all up.

They did it once on that hill billy Trucks show, on Spike once.
They didnt make a flange though. Instead, they cut the hole same size as the patch and attached backing plates (like how you repair drywall.....if anyone knows...)

The catalog doesnt show any rear quarter at all, for anything, even the ones I bought. Thats why you have to all them.
