brian crower cams and stage??
I am going to buy brian crower cams for a non vtec b18a but don't really know what stage to get. I'm going with NA all motor. What would you all reccomend for the best power out of the cams? I only have an intake, header, and full cat back. i've got a 92 DA.
I dont know your answer first off, I was today wondering the same thing. But you do realize that upgrading the cam will drastically decrease your MPG and you might not pass a smog test, if you even need to worry about one.
But from personally looking at the crower.com website, If I didnt need to worry about smog, I'd go with the stage one and the valve train upgrade just in case.

For the B18A,
the 402 cams drop right in, no tuning, no valve springs needed. Although tuning is always recommended. Idles like stock.
the 403 cams drop right in, but need tuning although many have used them without, and the valve springs are recommended to be upgraded. Idle is close to stock.
the 404 cams require tuning and valve springs. The idle can be tuned with a slightly higher idle to be decent. These cams love higher compression, but some have good gains without swapping pistons. PR3/P30 pistons fit stock rods and bring the compression to 10.8/11 to one respectively. These cams are VERY popular. 170 whp can be acheived with I, H, E, pistons and good tuning.
the 405's are full race and would need the above and some serious compression.
I was bored, and am going with the 404's and P30's myself, so went ahead and gave you some of the info I have gathered on my quest. Oh, and a short-geared tranny will really help the all-motor B18A haul. You can do the same setup with a B20 and have a real nice runner.

if you just bought it off the brian crower website then they are probably 403s. I HIGHLY recommend you upgrade springs+retainers and cam sprockets. btw get that thing tuned professionally. GL
