Default I'm in need of a specific collector...

I am looking for a 4 to 1 sch10 collector for an upcoming project. It needs to be about 5-6" in length, have a low angle convergance, and the outlet needs to be round. It would be best if the outlet can be cut to about 2.5" in diameter without sacrificing much of the overall length.

I just havn't been able to find anything online that would fit my needs.

Thanks,
Bryson

Welded, inside welded and ported only, or completely unwelded?

Completely unwelded. I just need it cut for me. My pos HF bandsaw doesn't get the cuts that I'd like for a perfect collector.

I'd also be ordering more in the future as well...

I second that motion. I made a pretty nice fixture to cut collectors on my HF garbage, and they are pretty descent actually. Not as consistent still as I'd like though. They have to be lightly massaged in order to be perfect. Frankly it pisses me off to be honest.

Care to share the secret on how to set up this POS? I can't seem to keep my blade on for any longer than 10 seconds of cutting before it pops off. I reinstall the blade, tighten the tensioner until I'm blue in the face and then start over, only to have it happen again.

You've got one of the cheapest bandsaws you can get and you're trying to cut round stainless on an angle, it's only going to get so good. I highly doubt anybody is making perfect collectors in any kind of quantity on one of those saws.

Mine is setup as good as it can get with a thick morse blade to cut down on deflection along with a specialized collector JIG and it will still not cut a perfect collector reliably. I've relied on Sam for perfect cut collectors, but he can only offer a 4" with rectangular outlet.

Post up some pics of yours inside, and unwelded.

Exactly. Although it's worked great for me on everything except collectors.

In the verticle position, I was able to cut 16 gauge 304SS 2.5" tubing no problem without a single blade poping off incident. However, trying the same horizontally is a JOKE!

Subscribed waiting for pics on this one. I as well have high quality blades and have toyed with the setup of the saw for quite some time. I made a jig specific for the saw to cut the collectors and I still can't get exactness either. I get them very close, but there is some inconsistency. I weld them inside and they come together fine, but it requires a litte portwork.

I can't wait to see some of this guys work. He's always on my ***, talking smack every time I turn around. He better be a master of the craft here.

its not rocket science, its all in the small adjustments, i use a .020 thick starrett 10-14 tooth variable bimetal blade and a homemade cooling setup.

i could upgrade, but why when this is working tittis for me

Bro for real, instead of posting in every thread how incredible you are at everything, why don't you help people out. If you've discovered some mastery with the p.o.s. HF bandsaw let some people in on it.

I am getting a ccfab feeling from you. Noob, low post count, talking a bunch of mastery trash like you been around here for a while. Somethings up...your down with a bunch of dudes on here from CT too. Busted dude......Hotrex up in the house.....

i have one of those cheap *** 220 dollar band saws. the 1st blade it came with was trash and broke within 5 minutes of using it. i then switched out to a .035 blade i got from mcmaster(10-14 variable tooth/bimetal) and it seems to be holding up well, gotta keep her lubed up though, she dont like it dry.....

i also made a real pos "collector jig" for it, and have so far cut 2 collectors on it, they do need a tiny bit of sanding to get them to match absolutly perfect.

my only complaint is that teh ****** takes like an hour and a half to cut all the pieces...

i do plan on buying a "real" bandsaw when my funds allow.
