Default 575WHP SI ... Need More Torque!

Just Dyno'd my SI last thursday night and came out with 575WHP and 337TQ.

It's a fully built b18c gsr block & head w/lsd. T66 Ball bearing 66 trim turbo @26PSI but would like more torque! any suggestions on what to add or just better tuning?

damn thats kinda low.

i made 415whp and 339 wtrq on a stock ls.

if you want more trq youll need more dis. do you have a sleeved block? if so bore it out to 84mm, you can do a ls crank for a longer stroke.

only problem with 84mm is that you leave less room for errors or freak accidents!

im in so way a tuner but for some reason there is alot jumping around on that graph!

Do you have the af graph or an idea of what your timing looks like?

10.5:1 cr on 26psi ?

i always thought that you had to keep psi low when using high cr pistons.

nope, you just need high octane fuel

who tuned the car? reason i ask is because usually when people are going for a power number they work kinda high on timing numbers but im sure due to the high C/R of your motor, he/they may not have any in it at all.

also what are your power goals, cause that turbo seems a tiny bit too big IMO, you could make the same power and a more linear TQ band with something a bit smaller

The way the graph dips and torque is low it could probably use some timing.

Tq = hp x 5252 / rpm.

Hp is all you should be concerned with in a high revving Honda. Hp is what moves your car down the track. At each rpm if you increase torque you increase hp and vise versa.

Put a smaller turbo which spools faster and you will see a huge jump in torque but you may sacrifice top end power. Always remember that the person who can put the most average hp to the ground wins. having 700hp peak and only being able to put 500 avg hp to the track for 1/4mile will loose to the guy with 600hp peak which has his gearing dialed in and put 550 avg hp to the track.

regardless of the dyno, hp and torque are tied together so even if the numbers are off up or down they move together. so if you think the car should of made more torque, than you would have to agree it should have made more hp.

You can have the high CR but on high octane fuel.... Im on c16 constant, no more pump gas, but its only driven like twice a week. We still got some more tuning to do and well probably hit a different spot. yes the name is from haggard

do u have any a/f and boost plots, your torque isnt peaking until redline thats not normal. not to mention its very erratic. should be leveling off somewhere.

i dont think hes trying to argue that trick. hes not disappointed with making 575whp though. he's just wondering why hes not making 400-/+ftlbs like a typical 575whp setup makes. his setup should have a much more solid powerband not just peak torque at redline.

Look at your torque curve. Now go check out a datalog of boost. You're creeping boost BADLY so you're hardly seeing any additional boost and therefore torque gain in the mid range where your peak torque would normally be. You don't break 300 ft-lbs of torque untill about 7200 RPM's, probably because your turbo isn't moving anything close to 26 psi at that point, so you're not making the kind of peak torque you would at 26 psi.

There's another T66 ball bearing car. No boost creep and a proper manifold and it makes 300 ft-lbs by about 5200.
