Default Clutch release shaft seized?

Has anyone ever run into this before?

I bought this CRX that had been sitting for about 2 years. Got it running put my foot on the clutch and it stuck to the floor. Adjusted the cable and then had a working clutch but only at the top of travel. I assume needs clutch no freeplay left.
Remove transmission and find clutch to be next to new. Relase bearing found to not be moving on shaft. remove release bearing ok?
Shaft that release bearing and clutch cable hooked up to found seized in transmission.
I've soaked it in penetrating fluid and hit it back and forth with a hammer but it still does not seem to be getting any better. Is there a way to remove the shaft from the case?

Are you talking about the clutch engagement arm?

Just take off the 12mm bolt that is going though the TOB fork, then pull out the arm. I made a picture in MsPaint just so you know the exact bolt I'm talking about

Thanks for the picture but been there done that, I've beat the living crap out of it.
It's SEIZED, i can't even make it go up and down without hammering it back and forth. I've heated it with a torch and soaked it in penetrating fliud still no move,

I was more interested to see if anyone else ever saw this.
Thanks for the picture though

After 2 hours of pounding it back and forth a whole can of penetrating fluid and a whole lot of heat it finally became loose enough to be removed. Cleaned up sanded and lubed and is working perfectly now. Weird!

Bringing this back from the dead.

My car has sat for almost 2 years.

When I went to revive it the clutch pedal sunk to the floor..

I adjusted the cable but it is not moving the clutch release arm at all.. I can't even pull up on it. I used to be able to start the car but not get it in gear.. now it won't even start.

I'm gonna see if I can remove the arm...
thanks.

that is a cap on the TOB lever. the bolt they are talking about on the TOB lever is within the bell housing of the transmission. That is just the external portion of the TOB lever. as far as i know, that part isn't removable. its a one peice unit.

Wow this was 4 cars ago. Yeah remove transmission and whole bunch of pentrating and heat from a torch to unsieze shaft. You may have to consider new transmission.
Splitting the case etc.. will not get you anywhere the shaft will come out of the trans case but yours looks just like mine. Just keep penetrating and working the arm up and down.

I've been spraying the release shaft with PB blaster for awhile now. Got the arm moving yesterday with a tap from a sledge from above and below. I cant move it with my hands yet.. but it does move with the hammer. I really think I need to face the fact I have to drop the trans. I will continue to work this up and down for a week to see if it gets better.
