Default new header, new problem

just picked up a DC ceramic for my d16y8. Huge leak, but thats another story. What im concerned about is the tab right before the collector flange. Theres 2 bolt holes where it bolts up to the bracket. I do NOT have this connected. Is this for some concern?

I believe that bracket only secures the header from moving up and down slightly. Im sure its not to much protection, but question is, will not having this connected run a higher risk of having my header crack?

Its not really needed, its a brace for the header so it doesnt crank over abuse but its really hard to crank a header like that, unless of course your running huge power.
