2002 NBP Dc5
- So here is what I've got so far
1. Red Outs
2. DIY Black housings BUT...........
3. Just bought a whole 2005-2006 Front end conversion for my NBP for $400 with a color matched bumper from a 06 Type S!
4. Got the ricetastic i-VTEC DOHC decals on the side. Made them myself and they look pretty ****** sweet!
Things I have in store. Keep in mind, I'm a college student and devote most of my time to studies and concentrate less on working. I've worked my *** off from 2003-2006 while I was out of High School to pay for my Ej8 and all the parts into it. It's in my sig. FS BTW.
1. Skunk2 lowering springs or Tein S-Techs with camber kit
- reason why - I'm looking for a moderate drop with the skunk2 but have heard about good quality of the S-Techs, yet they don't have as aggresive stance and drop. Also, affordablity. I don't have the money for coilovers. I'm not ballers like all of you. Springs are just fine. I'm not gonna blow my shocks out. I don't autoX and I gave up on the racing thing. I just drive normal. It's more or less for the appearance aspect of things. Stock ride height BLOWS!
2. 17" Rota Torque - Bronze wrapped in toyo proxies 215/45/17 with RAYS extended Red lug nuts
- reason why - Because they are sexy and for the price, why not?!?
I think instead of paying $1,200+ for Dc5 ITR wheels or even Work Emotions, for that matter, just get these instead. Variety of different colors and they give the Dc5 a more aggressive look to it.

3. Tint
- reason why - It makes the car look better and I hate people looking in at me. I know I'm a good looking fellow but come on.
4. 6500K HID
- reason why - So I can see more!
Give me some suggestions on brands. I've been looking into phillips and xenon.
5. Yellow Fog lights
- reason why - They are sexy and they work well with flow with the cars appearance.

6. Lip Kit - piece by piece
- reason why - Cuz I'm awesome and my gf loves my RSXy. Do I need to say more? Looking at the Mugen front lip for the 05-06, 05-06 Type S side skirts and a Type R rear for the 02-04.
7. ARC air induction chamber
- reason why - It works. It's different. It's sexy. It's a clean setup! It is also less prone to hydrolocking.

8. Comptech Race Header
- reason why - Refer to #6.
9. Apexi WS2 Exhaust
- reason why - Refer to #6 again. And it doesn't sound like a damn Ricer fart can and looks stock for the most part. I hate being harassed by cops for loud exhausts. This one is FTMFW!
10. Brembo Blank rotors
- reason why - because I learned the Drilled/Slotted rotors blow!
So what does everyone think of that list? I think I'll have most of it done by this summer, ready for some car shows up here in the Northeast. Leave me your feedback. I'll take your comments into consideration. Thanks so much

#10 is a complete myth. All drilled/slotted rotors do is lighten your pocketbook.
Spend the cash on better pads. Much better upgrade.

well, the thing is, when I bought my car in July, the dealership told me they replaced all 4 rotors and put new pads on. Well, they put pads on but not rotors. All they did was resurface the rotors and by doing so, they warped within 5 months and less than 10k miles on them. So I'm just going to buy some drilled and slotted rotors. And I don't believe it is a myth. The friction with the pad and rotor causes heat issues and the escaping of gases with conventional rotor/pads is minimal. By having a rotor with drilled holes and slots, it reduces gases as well as heat caused by the friction which then makes the rotor less prone to warping issues, unlike that of blank rotors. If I spend the cash it's going to be on organic pads of some kind with drilled/slotted rotors all the way around. No too sure on brand yet. That's why I search and learn before I spend.

Well believe it, your theory has been disproved many times. Do a search and you will see. Brembo blanks are your best bet. You got a gangsta deal on the front end conversion.

thanks for the help. I guess I was wrong. Yea, I was debaiting on doing the front end conversion for a while and I was just randomly searching ebay for front end parts for the 05-06 and came across a couple auctions and won every single one. I nearly **** myself. Especially when I searched and found out how much the actual parts cost from Acura.
$428 PER headlight
$739 for the front bumper
$93 for the front grill
$38 for the headlight brackets.
I def. made out with a steal. Especially grabbin the Type-S front bumper with the lip already coming with it and painted black. Can't wait to install and sell my 02 front end.
#4 on the HID's? lol. Well, my stock bulbs just suck and my friend has HID's and it's a big difference. I'd like to have projectors made outta my 05-06 headlights but it's so pricey so I'm just going with HID's

Nice list, but I don't know where you get your prices from...
I would have done things a bit differently. But it's nice nonetheless
Edit: Skunk2 will blow your stock shocks easily. I hope you know it's the spring rate that causes the shock to blow, and not how low you go. The spring rate plays a huge role in your oem shock life.
Fact, cut oem springs will make you oem shocks last longer than if you were dropped the same height on skunk2's, and yes we all know Cut springs isn't the best thing to do, but it's to prove a point.
For the HID Kit, Philips is the best. So go with that.
And you go with an ARC Air box yet Rota wheels... I dunno man, if you go quality, go ALL out with it

any reason for the comptech race header? after you figure the header plus the street adaptor its quite a bit more expensive than the dc model and the gains are nearly equal. if you're willing to throw down that money on a comptech why not go with a buddy club or toda?

Thanks.
Well, I did have Skunk2 springs on my Ej8 and the drop was amazing and my shocks held up for 30k+ miles and are still going. I'll look into it more. The RSX stock shock might not handle that kind of drop as well as my civic shocks. I'll do some more research. Everyone that has done the S-Techs have positive feedback about them.
As far as Rota! Yes, there are a lot of haters on Rota and a lot of people that like Rota. I personally don't really care what brand of wheel it is! Why spend $$$$$$ for the Work Emotions and/or Dc5 ITR wheels when I can get nearly the same thing for much less. I haven't heard about the Rota Torques snapping or ripping apart at all. I'm just going for some style and I think this will be a best suit for what I want to achieve as far as appearance is concerned. But again, it makes no difference to me what the company is, as far as wheels are concerned.
As long as they are Bronze and look hot, I'm a happy camper.

The pics are just there for reference as to what I want done to my car. Just picture a 2002 NBP with black outs, red outs, i-VTEC DOHC decals on the side and stock ride height but always maintained and kept clean

To each his own. I guess I'm looking for more of a cleaner looking setup that would score more points at local car shows, see some initial gains from the box and be less prone to hydrolocking

Ok cool
But for the DC5-R wheels, we have them over here, $700 with tires. That's why I was saying, why bother with Rota's?
And you can't beat OEM quality!

yea, kinda sorta, I went the whole fully built turbo thing with my civic and I just need a great looking DD that turns heads and scores some decent points at local car shows. I know the rotas won't score high but w/e.

really, Dc5-ITR wheels going for $700 with tires up there in Canada? Have any links to this or connections? I'm very interested. Any idea on how much shipping would be for these to the states? Yea, for that price, that's worth buying over Rotas. I can always have them powdercoated bronze. Thanks for the heads up on that price.

Pretty much every single JDM Shop sells them for that price.
Like I said, shop around for your parts man, you can get everything you want AND MORE if you shop around, good luck with the project man

will do man. My front end conversion just came in, but I'm gonna wait for the spring to put that on, just incase I was to happen to get into an accident caused by the winter weather. So expect some great pics by late March. I'd love to put everything on now and be done!!
Next project upon completion of Grad school: 2007 Black C6 Zo6-TT

Yea, I'll look around a little more. I've seen a few places that have carried those wheels and were asking $400+ per wheel minus tires. I guess I'll have to look some more if there are prices for all 4 wheels/tires for $700
I'll keep everyone posted. I'll be making my own build up thread in this Forum

How far are you from Montreal?
If you want, I can shop around for you, once I find them (give me a day), I'll leave a deposit on it, come and pick them up.
It's for you, if you really want these wheels.

By the way, just to give you an idea of the prices we get here, the ITR Spoiler's, that people are selling for $250+
go for $100 here, and it's AUTHENTIC.
Only downside, is that it has surface scratches, but unless you have an ABP DC5, you'll have to repaint it any ways for it to match.

that sounds like a great idea. I'll keep in touch with you. I'll have to get a passport to get into Canada. From Saratoga Springs it's about a 3 hour drive or so to Montreal. I'll keep in touch with you though. It probably won't be until March or so. I'm in the process of selling my civic. If I can sell it soon, I can have the money for the wheels even sooner.

that is crazy for prices. That would be a good idea to make some money though, buy a few spoilers or wheels and just add another $100 on top so it would still go for $50 cheaper than what everyone else would offer it for. You'd make a killing by doing that. Crazy prices up there. I know where I'm going for my authentic JDM ****
