Default looking to buy an RSX. is the transmition that bad?

So I am looking to buy an RSX type s all years and i know there are tons of things posted on the transmissions. I was wondering from people that have had or still have the problem with the transmission if it is really that bad? How loud is the grinding? Does it happen in low gears or high gears or both? Is it a problem or is it something you can deal with? And is it hard to shift? I really appreciate you guys looking at this. Thanks

it is not as bad as you think it is. Mine grinds going into 3rd gear at high rpm's (around 7000)

How loud is the grinding? Can you hear it or feel it? What about average driving like shifting at 2500-4000 RPMs. Sorry i just dont want to spend a lot of money and and have to spend more money to fix it.

well for my 06 its loud. but it rarely ever happens. i got about 5000miles on it. i think if you change the tranny fluid it would help.

NO grind at low RPM usually happens at WOT or at high RPMS 5,000+ and usually in lower gear such as 2nd or 3rd, but its not as bad if you don't use Honda MTF

Are yall talking about the 2nd gear grind issue? We experienced that, but each time I think that I can chalk it up to user error, not engaging the pedal enough. I don't know if that's everyones issue, but that seems to be the cause in our car, and ours is one of the 1st 2002's to arrive in our area which seem to the most widely affected.
