Default 98 Accord EX power window issue

When lowering the driver rear window (which had not been opened in a while) the window apparently stuck to the gasket and pulled out of the register, then came down. Now the window does not work properly. Is this a common problem? What do I use to keep the glass from sticking? Will I be able to access the mechanism when I pull off the door panel or should I let the dealer do it for about $100?

Thanks

As far as keeping the glass from sticking to the rubber, I usually clean the inside rubber good with soap and water, dry it up and then give it a coating of silicone spray lubricant.

Works great for me.

if the window has jumped out of the 'run channel', the door panel will need to be removed and then you can find the 2-10mm bolts that hold the glass to the regulator. Get the glass loose and put it back in the run channel.
Try to save the plastic liner behind the door panel by cutting the adhesive with a razor knife whil peeling it off.
silicone spray all the run channels at every oil service interval.

A little off topic, but what's the purpose of that plastic lining? Is it to reduce road noise?

Thank you for your help.
Having taken off the door panel, I found that the little plastic slider/socket joint broke. This is part of the regulator assembly which is the lowest part which may be ordered.
Once again, a $1-5 part will cost $50 to 60 to obtain (plus any labor charges).

How I wish the window had just come out of the trough.

Thanks again!

It's to help keep humidity and water away from the interior i think.

haha power windows regs are a B. but if u need any help with the front window regs, ive replaced BOTH already, one i had done at a shop, and the other, (here we go)

i got off ebay, new for like 25bucks or something, generic i guess, cuz i was digging through my spare parts bin to rig the sumbitch up, the OE one uses all bolts or maybe all nuts and stuff... the ebay one uses some other wierd combonation and didnt come with any hardware....
once i go the regulator in place and the window hooked up to it and turned on the power.... the damn thing goes BACKWARDS!!!, so i had to yank out both the wires from the harness on the reg and swith them the right way, it works now, just as good as the OE honda one on thedriver side which is also new, but it was a REAL pain, cuz i decided it would be cool to take the window completetly out of the car and take it into the livingroom and clean it thoroughtly, then lining that back up was a pain....

ive got beefy arms and got it done, just cut up my hand a little bit but it worth the hassle if ur low on $$$ plan to spend the WHOLE ENTIRE NIGHT doing it (for the fronts)

sorry its unrelated sort of,
