Hey guys, some of you guys may know that I have a track Gsr that I drive around daily. Since now that i got a promotion, I think ill be looking for more daily based Type R/ Gsr/ or even a RSX-S. What are some things that i should look out for when buying a Type R? My neighbor is selling his type R but seems like he beat on it a little to hard for my taste. But every time I see his car......dayum!!

 

First make sure all vin numbers are intact on all body panels. Then check the car to make sure you dont see anything unusual like repaints or possible accidents. Run a carfax on the car. Make sure the tranny reads B18C5. Make sure the car has 5 lug, no sunroof, a wing on the back, ITR lip, and possibly bring it to a mechanic.

 

Tranny grinds at high RPMs.

 

Carfax.... receipts of important labor .... Ask the basics, accidents? repaints? problems? compression test?

Compression test, maybe bring it to acura for a check out...

 

find out of the thing drives straight


if it drives ok, doesnt pull either way and doesnt have any suspicious habits while cornering or trying to drive dead ahead it'll be fine. any accidents don't matter after that. the only reason i wouldn't want an accident damaged R is that they have a habit of not driving 100% afterwards.

if it drives fine but has had an accident just knock them a bit on the £££'s and accept the history.
