Default How to remove and molds sides?

I want to get my side moldings removed and molded out my friend had it done said they remove it, weld the holes to prevent future dimpling and then bondo over the holes and smooth it out something like that. Anyone got a link to a how to so this or details so i can tell the guy at the body shop how its done or if I only need to mold over the holes after the strips are removed. Thank you very much

Its called 'shaving' when you want something removed, ask for it to be shaved. For example, go to a body shop, and tell them you want to "shave the side mouldings"
If you want to do it yourself, you can pop the mouldings out, get some thin sheet metal and cut it into squares. clean/sand the areas around the holes, and use body panel adhesive (uber strong stuff, dont get it on your tools) once set, its almost as strong as a weld. Glue the squares over the holes.

To fill the majority of the moulding, use a fiberglass filler, and to give it a smooth surface, use a ploy filler (regular bondo) sand it down to about 280 dry, and I would recommended to wet sand to about 600, then wipe it down with a tack rag, primer, and paint.
