I have heard some things about questionable trans. in TLs. Is there production dates that are particularly bad? Recalls or retro fixes? Mine is 4 model years old.

 

yes they do. althoguht some 03 models are "fixed"

i have an '06 whens it really cold i have a prob going into 3rd.....but thats all i know about....

 

Current gen 04-07 TLs as far as I know dont really have transmission problems.

The previous generation 99-03 TLs and last gen CLs did have transmission problems. Especially the Type-S variants.

Transmission warranties for the 99-03 TL and 01-03? CL were extended to 7 yr/100k miles.

 

you can always call the dealer and give them your vin and they should be able to tell you whether the trans was replaced, the recall for the vent tube was done or if you are still currently eligible to get the work done under warranty.
