Help!!!!! b20 runs good untill 4500 rpm then craps out

Default Help!!!!! b20 runs good untill 4500 rpm then craps out

ok i did a b20 swap into my teg ran great but couldnt put my hood on because the intake stuck up way to high so i put my b18 intake on and it ran fine this morning but at lunch i went and got gas then i headed home and tried to get on it a little and it just hit 4500 and then it doesnt go anymore aybody have any suggestions???

seems life the ECU, when i used to have my b20 teg i switched ECU and same exact thing happend around 4200 seemed like there was a rev limiter there.

would my ecu crap out that fast??????? i just baught it chiped with a mugen chip

i also have another 1 chipped with an amtel chip but it doesnt run it for **** i need to get the chip reburnt

Did you bypass the knock sensor? Like the GSR if the knock sensor is not bypassed or your ecu is not designed to run it properly then its a fail safe so you dont blow your motor.

ECU problem. Either the ECU you bought isnt for your car and is some pos generic base map or the chipping job wasn't done correctly and the ecu is trash. Ofcourse it could be a check engine light causing it. My guess is you need a stock ecu.

it ran fine though untill today i put on the ls intake last night drove it to work this morning and kinda got on it and it was fine but at lunch it started doing it i could try a stock ecu i guess but my car is turbo charged

its a b20b and it cant be a bearing it's only got 35000 miles and it runs 2 smooth

thats what it is then the chip. just get you a oem ecu for the b20 and you will be fine

i didnt know they made an b20 ecu for a manual transmission but i pulled my intake again and the gasket was bad so im replacing it today and i'll see if that fixes it

well i drove it to the store and it all the sudden started smoking really bad so i got it home and now it doesnt have any fire so either my msd or coil crashed 1 or the other
