I've personally installed Fujita and Injen short ram intakes on '06 Si's, and my K&N is still the best IMO, just from a fitment standpoint. Don't know about the AEM. As far as exhausts I've only had personal experience installing a GReddy Evo on a friend's car. But I think it's really nice. I plan on getting the 5Zigen when it comes out in Spring. Good luck to you.

CAI - Injen

SRI - Injen,K&N,fugita !

I dont think any fg2 owners on here have had any issues with the cai's just don't drive into a big puddle or a lake use common sense and you should be fine.

P.S. - I think injen makes little water repellent skirts for the injen filters to help keep the water out there is currently no bypass valve for any cai's for the SI good luck !

The story you heard about Cold Air Intakes is true if you're not careful. If your car takes in too much water through the Cold Air Intake, it will hydrolock the engine and destroy it. Your warranty will not cover that damage. I heard that your car has to be pretty submerged for that to happen, though. I personally will be getting the Injen SRI just for saftey from this.

I forget which way it goes with SRI and CAI but I believe one gives you more power on the high end and one gives you more power on the torque. Someone please correct me.

But I do know SRI will give a meaner sound than a CAI.

I think the cai is for top end & the sri intake for mid range punch but with the sri i feel a slight power increase throughout the whole rpm range !

I just drove through a heavy storm for about 15 minutes (highway included) with Injen CAI. No problems here.

I won't continue to take my chances though.

You can also search for intake through the site. You will come up with more information than you want.

Go with Injen CAI. Have only seen one or two people with Injen CAI have an issue with water (out of the tons of owners). There is a filter cover that Injen makes if you are that worried about it.

looks like i'll be ordering the injen. how much more difficult is the install on the CAI than the SRI. any difference? as much as id love to hear it scream, im looking for performance. but then again, if i ever did get caught in terrential rains, i would be kicking myself in the ****. lol. maybe i will just go with the SRI. whats the hp/tq gains difference between the two? and lastly, where's the best (cheapest) place to order it?

thanks guys

You have to remove the front bumper. Air filter is located right behind the driver side foglight. You are looking around 4-5 hp difference I believe. For the price, it is worth it. Try http://showstoppersusa.com or http://corsportusa.com
