alright my friend says i need a new clutch because sometime it doesn't go into reverse. and lately my car has been like having trouble accellerating like it boggs at 3k rpm. what could be the problem and if its my clutch what kind of clutch would be best for the next month or two and then when i swap in my rebuilt h23 head.
ya sounds like a slipping clutch. Chances are the pad on the disc is worn down and non friction material is mating to the flywheel or pressure plate causing loss of grip. If I was you I would try to get a JUN flywheel. it is 1-peice Chromoly. about 12lbs, and very strong. Because it is one peice .. you do not have to worry about the complications of the aluminumplate-inside-steelring issues. (they heat and expand at different temperatures).
I think it cost around $350 which is not bad at all.

If it doesn't want to go into reverse it could be the trans itself or the linkage and not the clutch. Also is it bogging at 3k rpm or slipping? If it's bogging that's not a clutch problem it's a problem somewhere else.
