It was getting to dark to look very closely to see where the gas smell is coming from so I apologize for the vague details. The smell seemed very strong around the fuel rail but I didn't see any leaks. Is there anything common that fails that would result in the smell of gas? The car is stock with about 146,000 miles.

Check your fuel lines and around the fuel filter for leaks, Has anyone changed the fuel filter or touched anything latetly? I was thinking maybe they didn't use the copper washers..

 

this is what i would do, turn on the car. Then while the car is running check the fuel filter to see if its leaking, then follow the fuel line to the fuel rail and check that. And if still nothing, check the fuel injectors. check all around everything, top-bottom-left-right.

 

my car smells like fuel but there is no problem if it is very strong and feels like if you lit a match in your garage it would go up in flames then you have a problem but i am not saying all but most cars after you modded the motor would smel like a racecar you know ...
