My Fit wouldn't start!!
Howdy all you Fit freaks
.
I've Had my Fit since april, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. However, to my dismay, it wouldn't start this morning. I'm sure it's not a dead battery issue as I've tried jumping it. Besides, when I turn the key, the power would cut out to the peripherals, but no response, not even a cough-like response you'll get when a car with low battery tries to start. What could be the problem?
I figure, the only thing that is different is that the EPS (steering) light was on.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

the EPS light should come on in the accesory position anyways.....if youve already tried jumping it and still no start all i can say is take it back to the dealer.

you know what. i had the same problem. it is the DBW fuse blew. cuz i accidentally pulled that out thinking it was an extra fuse and the car wouldnt start. try checking ur fuse box. also, try checking the ignition coil fuses. they should be right next 2 each other (blue 15amp if i remember correctly)
I was able to push start it by rolling it down the hill and engaging it in 2nd gear. But the starter makes no effort to even crank. So I brought it to the dealer late today, and the guy said that it might be the relay... I'll keep you guys posted.
btw, once the car runs, none of the lights come on.

You wouldn't believe it, but the after market carpet mat (I had one of those thick rubber ones to contain mud and spillage) got under the clutch enough to prevent it from arming the starting system.
I was able to start my car by rolling it down the hill (where I live) and engaging it in 2nd gear.
Well, I don't feel too bad about it because it took the Honda tech a whole day to figure that one out also
