Default Clay Baring

I was just wondering what exactly clay-baring does to the paint? and if there are any alternatives to it? Or someone to explain to me how to do it? And the best brands to use for doing it? If anybody can help me i would appreciate it thanks

For me it was one of those things I just had to try. I do it a couple times a year. It really helps. I clay my windows and wheels too
