Default em2's, are they stolen very much...

alright, i am looking into buying a 2001 civic ex, and was wondering if they were stolen much. I used to have an ej8 and just was always worried about it getting stolen... do most you guys feel that way? and are they stolen very much?

In the 10 months I have been on this board... I have never heard of an EM2 being stolen/stripped. We have had a window broken by vandals, and people have had their paint keyed... but that is the extent of the damage that i have PERSONALLY seen.

yup never heard of it, maybe the models before ours but nope cant say ive heard a em2 being stolen...in my opinon..theres nothing to steal unless u spent thousands in an engine and a stereo and put stickers all over the place saying what u got and bassing it everywhere..

To steal the whole car, you'd have to tow it away.
That doesnt eliminate stealing stuff from in the car.

^^ What he said, we have a flashed key, so hotwiring it, or screwdrivering the ignition doesnt work.

Theft is not your biggest concern, unless you own a 6thgen, my friend who worked at honda said if you file the a key down and wiggle it, you can open the door/start the car. But we have expensive keys that cost 80$ for spare set, lucky us. But I still got a Viper 791vx w/ dual zone radar sensor

p.s. like the other guy said I've been on 7thgen since 03 I think, I have never ever heard of one disapearing, but that doesn't stop the haters from fcking **** up
