Best way to mount front plate on JDM Conversion?
Hey guys, what is the best/easiest way to mount a front plate on the JDM Conversion. I've heard that you gotta get like a metal plate and drill it behind the bumper, but then others have told me Acura Legend brackets work...
Like I said, people have told me (A) I need to drill another hole into the license plate since the holes on the bumper are wider, and (B) a special bracket needs to be made to hold it.. I don't want the plate touching the paint in case it scratches it.
yeah a&j racing made a plate that fits behind the bumper with the correct hole spacing for the bolts to go thru. works like a charm.
It you so worried about the plate rubbing on the bumper, just stick some little rubber/plastic pads on the back of the plate... liek the ones they have on the bottom of lamps or on glass tables.
I wouldn't loose so much sleep over it... by the time the steel licence plate begins to start taking paint off the bumper, it will probably be full of stonechips and paint from other car bumpers anyway.

I never ran front plates on my JDM front-end. But my friend I sold it to put some brackets in the back and screwed right thru the license plate. I personally don;t like the front plate and would rather risk driving around without it.
