ok, so i put a rear door handle from a 4dr civic in my 96 CX hatch today, it worked fine in the garage when i put it in, but then when i wen to go pick up my friend the door wouldnt open, i have an alarm for my power door lock actuators that worked for unlocking them before hand, it feels like it is not fully unlocking the hinge, since the handles open all the way with no resistance. before there was a little bit when it unlatched. the other problem is that i put my door panel on too, so i cant get it off with out opening the door. Anybody know how to help me unlock my door with out going to a locksmith and having them slim jim it?

 

hmm.... could you try and use a clothes hanger and fish it open?

 

well i did, but i didnt know wtf i was doing, so it didnt help much, anybody else know how the hell i can get my ******* door open

 

try playing with ya key in the keyhole and see if it opens or as the guy said fish it out
when ppl do that slim jim thing i think it ***** up your door.

or u left ur keys in the car

i would try using my key in the kethole if i could, i just installed door handles from a 4dr civic, WITH NO KEYHOLE, i havent installed the driver side yet, so i can still get into my car, but i cant drive anybody else unless they want to climb over my driver seat or in threw the trunk

 

does anybody know how to slim jim a civic with a coathanger? has anybody else had any problems when installing rear door handles?
