Default Quick Release Hub...

Just curious if a quick release hub is out for the FG yet?

I've never owned one before, but I'm curious if it is possible to keep the STOCK steering wheel.

Same bolt pattern? Horn/airbag/cruise/radio still able to work somehow?

I love the look of the stock wheel, but want the added safety of a quick release.

Let me know!

It's hard for a thief to drive away with no steering wheel

If they want it they'll get it, but just extra piece of mind and another layer of protection.

They will need your key to do that. Honda has fixed the issue with stealing cars. Currently, your key tranmits a code to your car to start it. The code changes everytime and has billions to choose from (previous models did not have this feature). 30 seconds from releasing the key from the ignition, the car disables not allowing you to start it without the proper key.

Although a aftermarket steering wheel may bring a nice look.

It's only a matter of time before it is cracked, if it hasn't been already. And a number of them have been stolen already...

wwhat about the valet key? I'm pretty sure theres not a chip in it... if it is, it sure is tiny. Either way if they REALLY wanted your car, they have those keys that have the big box on them that just runs through codes til it gets the right one.... not that I would know where to find one but i know they exist...

The valet key has an immobilizer chip in it, its just cut slightly different to prevent it from opening up the trunk. The only reason our keys are so big is because of the integrated fob/remote... the actual chip is extremely tiny... you'd be surprised as to what it actually looks like.

Back on topic...

the spoon ctr has an aftermarket steering wheel. I assume that they have some sort of quick-release or adapter plate to use it.

I know that, but I wanted to use my OEM wheel.

I found out that the NRG SRK-130H short hub will work. The 2nd gen, 1st gen, or 2.5 gen quick release's are available.

Although, only works with aftermarket steering wheels.
