Whats up everyone, i'm new to the board and had a question on seat swapping. Will front seats out of a 97 Civic coupe fit in my 94 Civic coupe? I have a chance to buy a complete clean set of 97 seats for cheap and would like to swap my current seats as they are pretty trashed. I heard they would fit, that i would just have to swap the seat tracks but thought i'd ask you guys first, thanks. Oh also will the rear seat fit also, thanks....

 

You can probably make them fit, but why would you want to? My 97 seats are the most uncomfortable pieces of **** I have ever sat in! I dunno maybe 94s are worse?

 

94 seats are pretty uncomfotable too, actually I think the 97 seats have more cushion....

 

If you install them with the ek brackets they will only line up with 3 bolts. but i think you "might" be able to switch the rail off the eg onto the ek seat but im not positive hoep this helps a little.

 

Anyone else ever do this swap??

 

yep i had del sol seats with EK rails from my 98 EK and i switched seats with my friend's 93 EG he had GSR seats on those and all we did was explode the seats and changed out the rail that was closer to the center console on both sides ... it is a pain in the *** but just be patient it all works out all you need to do is change out the rail not the whole side becareful hope it helped

 

I've done it before using EK seats in an EF and EG as well as EG seats in an EF... It's as easy as swapping sliders for the chassis they're going into... If you choose to use the EK sliders in you EG it will take a bit massaging to get all 4 bolt holes to line up. And in the end, the seat won't slide smoothly if you ever needed to adjust it...

So the choice is yours...

 

since no one mentioned it, if you do the swap, you will sit quite a bit higher. so if your tall, (im 6'0) it kinda suxs with these seats in a 5th gen.

 

i've got 00 si seats in mine.. they're comfy but i'm probably gonna get some integra seats again

That's what id recoment. Bolt right in, hold you in more, and you dont sit so high.
