Default New to the prelude forum. Need some opinions!

I am getting rid of my 95 civic and just picked up a 93 lude vtec(man, what an improvement!). I am undecided as to what I want to do with the car. I have about $2500 to start with. The guy I bought the car from paints cars himself so he repainted it red before I bought it and it looks ok but there are tons of dents in both doors. You can just tell it's not the greatest job. So, I thought about having it repainted by a body shop but I figure that would eat up all my money. Otherwise, I could do some suspension upgrades and do i/h/e. What do you guys think?

i suggest some suspension upgrades first. i/h/e after that. and you'll still have some money left for other stuff like VTEC controller or some cams...
if you want to lower if first, i have a set of eibach springs and tokico shocks for sale. you can e-mail me if interested.

I agree, work on the basics first.

I wish that I would have done my suspension right away, so I would recommend doing that first. After that you have to decide if you want to be quick or fast. By quick I mean, do you want to do the bolt-ons, cams, VAFC, etc and run in the high 13s. By fast I mean, do you want to go turbo, full N/A build, nitrous, or a combination of the one of the first two and nitrous and run in the low 13s and 12s. Get a 1/4 mile ET goal in your head, find the best way to accomplish it, and start building. The last thing that you want to do is buy all of the bolt-ons and then decide that you want to go turbo.

$300 tower bars
$200 springs
0r 600-1200$ full shock setup
600-800$ good tires
The car will handle like a mother
$1200 h/i/e

Do you want performance or do you want looks?
Besides, a few dents will be fine because once your in SCCA your bound to get a few anyway!
