Hopefully no one will flame you on this (not that you'd deserve it).

No one really knows when the RSX-R will show up or how much it'll cost. Honda has an insane level of corporate security so I doubt we'll know until either it shows up at a US car show or the dealers receive training materials or color order sheets for it.

IOW, keep your GSR for awhile. That way you can try the RSX-R, RX8, Evo VII, STi, Z, Mazdaspeed Protege and whatever other new stuff will be out at the time.

There is NO absolute plans that the RSX-R is coming to the US.
Until Acura makes a "official" press release. What the dealership/salesman may have said means nothing.

even if it does make its way here...doubt it'll be close to that of the jdm one...probably more like the aus -- here's a post for the differences

Do not spread baseless propaganda. Part of the reason Honda gave the Aussies a dressed Type-S is that the Australians didn't have a Type-S to begin with. American Honda is not going to go through the trouble of giving us a "Type-R" that is nothing more than a body kit, shocks, and springs.

Some people will bring up the emissions argument but that point is moot because the K-series engine that is in the DC5R is based off the F-series that is in the S2000. As we all know the F20C makes 240 hp and is still a LEV. I doubt that the K20-whatever that is in the JDM ITR can't meet the LEV emissions level with 20 less horsepower.

Come on guys have more faith in Honda.

Ah but we are not talking about the CTR. If we were I'd be much more doubtful that it will show up. Even then its much more likely that the CTR will show up now that the competition for the Si is much, much stiffer than it was in 99-00.

As far as faith in Honda, I didn't say have blind faith in Honda. I believe that Honda will put out the product if they know people will buy it. This is why all of this competition is good because it raises the bar for everybody. If thousands of people run out and buy Z's, RX8's, SVT Foci, SE-R's, Mini Coopers, Evo's and the like, Honda will be forced to give us more performance vehicles.
