Default Smoothness of ride???

A few days ago, i drove around my friends 98 prelude and i noticed that it is much easier to drive his prelude than my R. Like, when i switch gears on his prelude, its much smoother than when i switch gears in my R. Is this normal? Is there ways to improve the smoothness of gear switching and overall ride quality in the R? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, make it heavier...

Or just be smoother with your inputs.

Try bleeding the clutch. I have problems with the fluid turning black and a residue is left in the resivor. I bleed about every 1500 miles or so. I notice a big diference in the shifting after bleeding the system. I also have the same problem in the wifes SI.

More weight will give the illusion of smoothness as well as added insulation and softer suspension damping.

doesn't the itr come with a shorter throw shifter? i think that makes the shifting action notchy like the s2k, the prelude and accord have long throw making it smooth but it feels like rowing a boat.

That would just make it stiffer, I think, so it would do the opposite i suppose

As far as smoothness in shifting, try some shifter bushings. They may not make is "smoother" but the shifts feel more precise. As far as the suspension goes, do you really want your Type R to ride softer? Do a 4 lug conversion and put LS suspension in there then. Check the testicular fortitude dude.

Word.

The R rides rough...& that's the way we like it.
