sorry if its in the wrong forum, i just didnt get much of a respond with the other thread. Anyways,

My car recently got vandalized and I just got the estimate and everything. Does anyone know if I can get AAA to write the check to me instead of the bodyshop? I asked my adjuster but she said no. It just didnt seem right. When my car got broked into a few years back, they cut me a check (but it was a different insurance company.)

I am an adjuster in WI. (not w/AAA) The laws vary by state, but an important thing to know is whether or not there is a lien on the title (most often due to a loan on the car). In Wisconsin, we are legally obligated to protect a lien holder's interest, so for damage above a certain amount, we have to issue the check either to the owner and the lien holder or the owner and the shop doing the work. If you have a lien on the title, this might be the reason. Hope this helps.
