Car Wont Pass Emissions!! Please helpppppp
Hey guys, I have the b18c1 in my 99 si,i heard from the guy i bought it off of that he changed it to obd1,i have a p72 and a p2t in it,still wont read either, what can i doooooo..
you need an OBD2A P72 from a 96-99 Integra GSR, and an OBD2B to A conversion harness, and the ECU must run the engine with no check engine lights, and all I/M monitors must be set to "READY"
goodluck
edit: you can't use a 00-01 ECU (this one will plug right in with no adapter harness) but removing the immobilizer will set a check engine light

so what exactly do i need,i have a obd1 right now....i have the adpter,i even put in the p2t and it still wont pass......
you can't use a P2T on a GSR it will run like **** (if at all) and will probably get a check engine light
you need to fully understand what I wrote above

So then get a '94-95 P72 and go fail emissions again.
You won't pass emissions unless you do exactly as sicones instructed.

The ECU connections might be OBD1, however the car IS OBD2A. Remove the conversion harness and run the stock ECU. Get it smogged, put the harness and the other ECU back in. Seems pretty simple to me.

What do you mean "It won't read".. You know, when you ask for help, its nice to give as much information as possible so those reading your questions can help you.

So are your connections on the main wire harness still OBD2b?
Since you said the previous owner converted everything over to OBD1 that means you need new connections like a secondary O2. I'm not certain about the distributor, but it may needed to be changed too. What about a Crankshaft fluctuation sensor (CKF)?
Make sure you have all connections/sensors for OBD2, then make sure you have a wiring conversion harness for OBD2b (99-00 Si) -> OBD2a (96-98 P72). This way your GSR will run right and pass emissions. Then you can convert back for the rest of the year.

While sicones is right, if you're putting the stock P2T back in there and an OBD2 scantool can't talk to it, his suggestion won't do you much good. I'm not talking about trying to use the P2T to run the B18C1...but a scantool should be able to communicate with the stock ECU with the key-on, engine-off.
