because not everyone has 11k to but a K motor in
and because the L15's suck. a lot.

Anything is possible, but it would be problematic.
First, any B16 will be older than the car, so you'd likely have problems with inspections or smog checks in some states (like CA).
Also, the B16 rotates the opposite direction from later K-series and L-series engines, and its intake and exhaust sides are opposite. This means you'd have a couple of options:
Install a b-series engine/trans with the transmission on the opposite side of the car (passenger's side). This would require some custom fabrication for at least the shift linkage and clutch... and probably more. Another problem here is the crossmember behind the and below the engine in the Fit. Routing the b-series exhaust around it would be difficult because b-series headers pass below the oil pan.
Install a b-series engine/trans with the trans oriented the same way as the stock Fit. This would also require custom fabrication for at least the shift linkage and clutch if it would work at all. It might make exhaust routing easier, but an intake manifold might not fit, and it might be nearly impossible to connect linkages to the transmission.
So... if you really want to do a swap, I think you're better off with a k-series. Kits are in the works for k-series swaps, and you'll avoid lots of problems you will encounter with a b-series.

So, you'd spend $5k (conservatively) to put an 8 year-old, god-only-knows-the-mileage engine into a brand-new, warrantied car, which would run low 15's if you didn't turbo it???
And as stated earlier, backdating engines is not smog legal in a lot of places.

all this would happen after the warranty. shouldn't that be a given. and i know they K and B spin in opposite directions.
but if you read the top, just a question. but thank you for answering it

yes the B series and the K series swaps have been done.....the Fits been out for a few years overseas so the JDM market has done some of these already
as for the L15 sucking.... stock its not at all thrilling....although i have riden in the Jackson Racing supercharged fit.....L15 with S/C making b16 numbers.....very very fast and fun...should be out early 07

Please post pics or links of a b or k swapped Fit in Japan. I am definitely interested becasue I have only seen bolt on turbos here.
