crx starts to strugle at half tank
at half tank shes starts bog down on full shew runs good i cant seem to find what the problem is i replaced the fuel pump and the fuel regulator and still no results anyone no what the problem could be
the evap valve could possibly be not opening or restricted so it builds pressure in the tank not letting the fuel pressure regulator give fuel back to the tank. therefore rising your fuel pressure and flooding it out. leave your gas cap off and see if that fixes it. if it does then blow thru all of it from the tank side with shop air after unhooking the hoses at the other end to make sure they are not smashed shut or plugged then replace the evap valve . make sure the fuel pump wiring is grounded by the pump and you have a good battery to body ground on the car. check to make sure the pump and strainer is the correct one and the tank itself isn't smashed up against the filter and it reaches the bottom of the tank.
maybe..
maybe..
I used a high flow pump from Xenocron and it is a generic pump with multi aplications, ever since I installed it my car will die when I go down a hill with 1/2 tank or less and stalls out, I believe when i installed it the sock looked to point a different direction and was noticable shorter than the stock sock, I concluded that either the sock fell off or it dosen't sit down far enough in the tank, I have yet to drop the tank and since my car only gets driving maybe once a week it isn't a huge problem but I would check the pump and sock filter sound like your problem...
good thread......My new 300,000mi '90 Civic hatch does the same thing.....starts to bog and stall just after 1/2 tank..........the guy said it had a new fuel pump, so I'll have to check their placement and length / model of the strainer "sock".......I'm hoping to solve this without dropping the tank if possible............
could we hear some more on the evap if you could...looks complicated to diagnose without proper equipt....Anyone????

you all should double check your pump mounting height in the tank, could be installed to high in the carrier
which would casue it the starve of fuel on lower fuel conditions.

i'm going to have to guess your sock fell off. did you try and reuse the stock sock or the one that came with the kit? i have installed these personally in a few cars (including my own) with no problems like that using either the stock sock or the included sock. I tried both as I was hesistant about this when I first started selling these pumps.
let me know...

Yeah definatley agree with the sock issue. I installed a walbro 255lph pump and at 1/2 tank it dies. Only repair i can think of would be installing a lower pickup or make an extension.

I was going to send you a message but i haven't gotten a chance to pull the tank again and it isn't a huge deal...I used the sock that came with the kit, I believe the stock sock wouldn't mount properly to the new pump, Marcus (SickCRX or something like that on HMT) had called me about having a similar issue when he was installing his but I haven't talked to him since...we both though the sock was facing the wrong direction when the new pump was mounted to the bracket...I really hope its the sock, the pump works great above 1/2 tank so its either the sock or the direction it sits, either is fixable and I will let you know what I find and I didn't make the post to bash your products just curious if anyone else had a similar problem...

Me too, I'm right at or below 1/2 tank right now....."in the problem zone"...I'm hoping to try and see if the fuel filter or the fuel pressure regulator are the culprit, but it REALLY sounds like I will be dropping the tank and checking the sock soon enough.....more info from those who know please......thanks, and good luck...........

I think your best bet is to just drop the tank and check your baskets.
Also taking a look at your fuel filters and seeing if they are getting particles in them...if yes, theres a good chance your basket is off or dangling and large particles are getting through the pump and into the fuel lines...this is not good on all kinds of levels.
