Default Evo 8/9 bottom mount manifold...B series Intake manifold, etc Random pics

Took these today so i figured i would post them up since things have been slow in here lately.






Intake manifold from my car....First one ive ever built...Going to try a few different designs (dual plenum, etc)

Nice work Jesse. You guys use 316 instead of the 304 right? Your weld colors always look brighter and more colorful than the 304 welds I've seen. Or maybe it's just the camera?

The newer manifolds are 316. Alot has to do with the gas. I do have a good camera also though

haha i wish i knew how to use photoshop...Im trying to get pics together for our website and i have to email them all to my brother so he can put logo's on everything....Im as computer illiterate as they come

Reduces carbide precipitation at higher temperatures.


Basically, keeps from "rusting" at higher temperatures than 304.

that pic was just for fun...The turbo is an Innovative unit goin on an Evo. That CRX only runs a gt4094r

i see, is there any disadvantages to it? like 1 is less prone to cracking or different expansion rates or something?

you would have to use 316 rod right? not 308?

316 retains strength at higher temps too, that is that main point. 321 does it even better, and inconel is the high temperature champ.

Yes use 316 for 316 and 309 for mild to 316. For 321 you use 347 rod since 321 is not made in a filler.
