Turbo's are the best way to go if you want to get the highest volumetric efficiency but there are very few CARB exempt turbo kits because a turbocharger adds something in the exhaust stream that makes emissions tuning harder. If you want to comply with emissions I would get a supercharger, if the biggest gains are your goal I would get a turbo.

s/c = adds more torque and a decent amount of hp to the car
t/c = adds lots of hp and a not so great amount of torque to the car
or maybe im wrong?

SC = more low end...correct me if im wrong? out of the whole torquey wise...mid range power...
turbo = get to higher speed faster...much more hp gained...more top end.

yeah basically a s/c will give you boost at low rpms while a turbo will give you boost at higher rpms.
Exact samething you just said but worded differently =D

S/C = Power that is on all the time, but lower gains.
T/C = Has to spool, but once it does...

Turbo is powered by your exhaust gases but has more potential as the power increases exponentially.
A supercharger runs directly off the spinning of your engine, so the power is consistent and delivered immediatly.
Depends on what you want.
My old GSR had a Drag kit and it was pretty nice, but with my Si I plan on getting the Comptech supercharger. Just more fun for daily driving to me.

So what kind of internals do you have to upgrade in order for the engine to handle more than the 250 wtq that I believe it's rated to handle max???

so how does the S/C and T/C affect gas mileage.

from what I gather so far I think I'd probably like having a supercharger more... I'd like more torque.

gas mileage effects for both? Thanks

yes...a 3-4 drop on gas mileage at cruise speed...and flooring it u might expect a decrease of 5-6 mpg. There's a guy with a big turbo here making 370whp and 250w torque getting 22+/- mpg flooring it.

As far as added weight to the car, do you all think the s/c is much greater than the AJP turbo? I heard that the s/c could have alot better gains if it were not as heavy. Not sure on this though.

Also, the s/c using the engine to power it and power will peak. Turbos use exhaust to spool creating the gains.

Agreed. I don't even consider getting the s/c.

Yet at the same time i believe you're very limited with a turbo setup on the FG2 cause the compression is real high. So you can't really up the PSI too much.

They both have their strong and weak points.! Either choice is a good one.
