Electrical and Vaccuum help for LS in EF
Are any or all of the vacuum lines neccessary for the engine to turn over? I've got the car to turn over, feels/sounds like there's compression, but it's not starting yet...
Also, I used a Boomslang harness (OBD0->OBD1 DPFI harness) and I'm uncertain where to run the pink, red, green, and light blue wires...the ones that hook up to the vtec components. Please help...I miss driving my car...

Update...all four have fire...
Not sure what to do with the Orange and Black/yellow clip that hooked up tot he backside of the old DPFI setup.

Your car is getting fuel, spark, and has compression? It should be starting, these are the three things that make it happen. You need to double check timing. Also, vacume lines could be unplugged and it would start, just wouldnt idle. Good luck.
Thanks for stickin' with me on this project...
I tried spraying gas into the intak manifold and...made a mini-bomb...bad idea.
What electrical stuff HAS to be wired for it to run? Maybe some of the wires are done wrong?

Wait a minute...in order for the gas in the intake manifold to have ignited there would have to have been fire in the intake manifold...wouldn't this be a back-fire? And if so...what might be causing this?
If you sprayed gas in the intake manifold, I should have atleast puttered, that is if it has compression, as well as spark. That back fire may be becuase you are 180's off in timing. I am almost possitive that is your problem. Did you put a new timing belt on this engine? For your car to start...obviously everything needs to be properly grounded. Which that is obvious, because its turning over. If you worried about wiring, double check the dizzy wiring.
My thoughts are that the dizzy wiring is correct if the spark plugs are getting fire, right?
No, I didn't replace the timing belt, and the guy said that the engine hadn't been apart. However, I know you can't always trust someone's word...
Also, the 180degrees off on the dizzy. The dizzy (as I'm sure you're familiar with) can only go in one way because the notch is offset. Is it still possible to get it in wrong? In addition, the marks on the crank pully match up to the mark on the timing belt cover, which I think would also throw out the idea of it being 180 off.
Please correct me if I'm wrong; these are just my thoughts.

You're going to laugh...
I had the spark plug wires in the wrong order. I had them 1-2-3-4 instead of 4-3-2-1. However, the other problem was that I didn't have the ECU mounted meaning the injectors weren't grounded...oops...
However, my new problem. The IACV valve clicks and won't stop. If I wiggle the speedometer cable it'll turn off until vibrations from the engine set the valve off again... I'm assuming a loose wire, but I can't figure which. What all wires or tubes or whatever could trigger this?
