Default can Vtec-E be changed to real Vtec

im not exactly a noob but hey my tag says it so im gonna ask it. It seems like there is a possibility since all it is an round lobe on the cam that opens the 2nd intake valve a little allowing for a very lean fuel mixture at low RPMs (hence the great gas milage 44/34) But when you get above 2500rpms i believe a pin locks the 2 intake rockers together rendering the round lobe inactive. Now is there a way by replacing the cam, and valve train assembly that you could theorectically convert it to straight up Vtec non of the economical bull. If any of you could help me out on this that would be awesome.
