Default alpine CDA-9856 vs. kenwood EZ500

both are same price and both are from crutchfield. I know everyone has their fav. I just want to know which one preforms the best and gives me the most control over the sound. It would be even better if you have used one and could talk about it pros vs. cons...I am not really looking for sirius or HD radio or that crap so if that is the breaker, then Ill worry about it then. I don't care much about styling either!

Thanks for the help!

Kind of a tossup, both are pretty good entry level HU, and Crutchfield is an authorized online dealer for both Kenwood and Alpine so you get manufactures warranty, I would lean towards the Alpine on looks alone, otherwise flip a coin. 94

im an alpine fan myself when it comes to headunits
but i would opt for the 9857 rather than the 9856, even though that may be out of your price range
