Default Need some tips on a swap

I blew my LS block on my lsvtec, so i picked up a GSR block, and ill be putting the GSR head on the block i just got. Just looking for some info on preparation of both of them before i put them together as far as cleaning and/or lubrication. I cleaned the block out as good as i can, theres still some antifreeze around the rings that i cant get to. The head is still on the LS block, i'm waiting to see if theres any tips you guys may have before i remove it. This is my first swap, so any info would be helpfull. Also, ill be swapping my LSD out of my trans into another one i picked up, any tips on that?

any lsd is good as long as you have one, but i would say take your block and head to a shop, get the block and head hot tanked, an have the shop do a valve job and the anti-freeze in the block dunt worry about that its fine, wont hurt anything.

lsd's: OBX-aorund $375, Quaife-around $8-9 hundred(dunt kno if i spelled that right), ctr, itr <--- both around same price 375

i already have an LSD, i just have to take it out of my current trans and put it in my newer one. I got the casing almost off, i just need a ring installatio tool to get the last part loose, i think i can handle that much. Hot tanking is a good idea, but im not sure if i want to do valves, that gets pricey from what i recall...
