i was thinking about buying some adjustable coil overs from r-speed.com that are only like 120 dollars for my 96 civic. They are adjustable from 0 to 4 inches, but is there anything else i need to do if i want to drop the car that much? i dont think i would drop it the full 4 inches, because i drive this car every day but maybe 2.5 inches or so, any advice?

Cheap coilovers are not the way to go. The ride is going to be horrible especially with stock shocks. If i were you, i'd spend some more money on the suspension. I tried going the cheap way the first time i lowered my car and i regret it. If you don't have the money, then atleast save up for some decent shocks.

 

Get some Koni's or tocico's. I wouls really consider getting a little more expensice coilovers though. That is awefully cheap. I paid that much for my springs.

 

You get what you pay for. So if you're paying a little over 100 dollars for a set of springs, you're probably not getting the best quality, and in the long run, it might cost you a lot more if something goes wrong with em'. Maybe save a little more money, and get something that you know is good quality. I'm not saying invest in Tein Ha or Apexi suspension, but maybe a brand that a friend has used, or can recommend.

I have a lowering suspension question also. Is it a good idea to just put lowering springs on stock shocks? Cause my brother gave me some.

Camber: The more you lower your car the wheels will start to move in like this / \ the lower you go the worse it is, causing massive wear on your tires. A Camber Kit allows you to adjust camber to avoid this. Also your going to want to get an alignment once your car is at the height you want it, the alignment shop should also be able to adjust the camber if you get A kit.

Get a good coilover kit or else you'll be bouncing around town like a stunna bean
Ground contol in my opinion are you should be able to get a set for around $260

 

hey dude you would need to reverse your perches in order to hit 4" anyways, so at most with your stock suspension setup then it would only be 2.5" drop. Make sure you get soft springs otherwise the ride will be very rough, only get hard springs if you intend to do racing or hard cornering.
