Don't drive 120mph with the radio on!
Yeah you guys probably think I'm stupid, but the other day I was cruising down the freeway with an e36 M3 at around 120 - 125 mph with my radio on and antenna up. This is not a good thing at all. I ended up bending my antenna. Can you believe that? I'm going to see if the dealer will cover it under warrenty. That's definitely a factory defect right?
Same thing happened to me and dealer will not cover it! so I did an S2K conversion and No more problem!
nah, same here... right now it won't go all the way down when radio is off... and dealer won't cover it.... now I am thinking of putting the Insight antenna on...

Stick it in reverse, mash the gas, and bend that sucker back straight!
I think you should go to a different dealer if there's one in town ... sounds like warranty to me ... call Acura a raise hell.
EDIT: noticed that the original poster hasn't yet been to dealer ... good luck tho!
Busse - who's local dealer DOES cover mishifts under warranty (not me, a friend)

Yeah i'm going in today to let them take a look at it. But the guy on the phone pretty much already said that it's not covered. But I will be sure to raise hell. He said that "those things don't bend." I said well isn't that what warranties are for? To cover items that don't do what there supposed to do. In this case an antenna that won't withstand highwinds. He just replied with "Well you can bring it in and we'll take a look at it."
they bend at 80MPH... that's why some manufacturers even design them so that they are angled.

I do.
Mine's not bent, but I am on my second mast. I wouldn't consider it (the bending) a problem until the antenna does not raise or lower properly.
Ask you doctor, a little bending is natural and shouldn't cause alarm...

best thing to do is hook a switch to bring down the antenna. unless you listen to tunes at 140MPH+

What antenna??? Oh....I forgot that my antenna (both in the Prelude and the Integra) is integrated in the rear window from the factory. No worry for me.
Just messing with you guys!!!
