2 questions...hybrid clutch and smog
im running a 1g b16 block....after i pass smog im gonna swap the b that was in my ef into my 95 coupe...i picked up a gsr hydro tranny and have a few questions about the clutch/fwheel....all b series flywheels are the same right? also i know that the gsr spline is larger than the b16 especially the 1g....can i use the old pressure plate with a gsr disc?
do hydro clutch trannies use 1030 or honda mtf?
also the stock motor is currently in the coupe...all stock internals with a header....im not concerned about the header cuz if anything it will make the motor more effiicient...but my question is will i pass smog without a purge solenoid? i let my friend borrow mine when i wasnt driving the car and he broke it...its obd1 so they wont say anything without the CEL on...but if the purge solenoid makes that big of a difference for smog i guess ima have to find one before i take it there...
excuse my ignorance i never payed attention to any of the smog stuff...but now i gotta put it all back on so i dont gotta pay all that extra money for an under the table job...thanks guys

You will probably have to have the purge solenoid to pass visual, unless you get a lazy/inattentive inspector. It's probably not worth taking the chance.
For the trans, 10w-30 and MTF are both fine, but I'd lean toward Honda MTF because it improves the shift feel dramatically over regular oil.

If the smogger does his job... You need the purge sol. How do you break a purge sol?
As for the header you still need a CARB number. This will fail you too.
Good luck.

well the guy who does my smog is a family friend and im sure he wont mind if its missing the purge sol. as long as the exhaust levels are within spec...damn i guess ima just have to borrow one from someone just not to risk it...
cool i got sum extra mtf layin around somewhere...thanks

he broke the nipple trying to yank the vac line off
hmmm i guess ill just put the stock manifold back on...hope i didnt sell it
anybody have any ideas on the clutch/flywheel?
i really dont wanna spend more money on a whole new combo since i barely got the ACT/ Exedy combo for my cable clutch

If you have the sol still then just JB weld it.
Sorry flywheels and clutches are not my speciality.
Bump for someone...

If that's the case, you may not have to bother. The evap purge solenoid is not directly related to tailpipe emissions - it controls fuel delivery system evaporative emissions (for a general description of the EVAP system, read here).

Pressure plate fits no problem, as far as the disc, I believe all 92+ Hydro B-Series trannies used the same disc.

right on...will i run into any issues using a stock disc with a stage 2 pressure plate?
im beginning to think the flywheel isnt gonna work

I am sure you can also use the flywheel but I myself am not 100% sure. Although I don't see why it would be different. As far as issues with the stock disc, I guess it all depends on how you drive it. If it was the other way around I would say no problem.

well its not my daily driver so lets just say i drive spirited when i do take it out...
whats that piece in the clutch disc that the spline goes through called? is it the throwout bearing? if so isnt it replacable? like can i put one from a gsr clutch in my b16 clutch to make it fit?
