Default 1 12" Subwoofer Wiring and Gauge question

If I'm going to be running a single 12" subwoofer at 250 watts, what would be the appropriate gauge to use to wire the sub to the amp? Would 16 gauge be good?

If I wire the subwoofer in parallel (as shown in the diagram) would I just twist the speaker wires together to get it to the other voice coil (+ to +)?

At 250W a 16ga would probably be OK but a 12ga would be better.

You can wire it any way you want as long as both VCs pos.(+) terminals are connected to the amps pos.(+) speaker output, and the VCs neg.(-) terminals are connected to the amps neg.(-) speaker output.

The diagram you show is called daisy chain, you could just as well run speaker leads from both VCs and connect them at the amp, both pos.(+) to the amps pos.(+) terminal and both neg.(-) to the amps neg.(-) terminal, it's still a parallel hook up and will result in a 2 ohm load if the speaker is a DVC 4 ohm. 94

Never thought about wiring it that way. Thanks!
