18x8.5" wheel....245 tire?
Trending Topics
Depending on year, the 2003-2007 Accord LX V6 Coupe came with either 205/60-16 or 215/50-17 tires from the factory. If you're getting 18" wheels, you should get 215/45-18 tires.
Most 215/45-18 tires are approved only for rims that are 7.0-8.0 inches wide, and are not approved for 18x8.5 rims.
Remember, if you get tires that are a lot wider than stock, you run a significant risk of rubbing on the wheel wells or fenders. Also, if the outer diameter of the tire is larger than stock, you have additional disadvantages, including speedometer/odometer error, and slower acceleration.

I think you mean without a rubbing problem. 235/45-18 is 2.5 or 3.4 percent larger in diameter than stock, so it will cause the speedometer and odometer to read lower by that percentage. It will also cause the car to accelerate slower in each gear.
Stick with 215/45-18.

no no no, we've got plenty of 7th genners running 235s on 18x8 and 18x8.5 rims...going all the way down to a +38 offset. Ideally, we want a +40 to a +45 offset, rubbing has been taken into account, im just wondering if a 245 was a good fit for an 8.5" rim

I was thinking 45 but possibly 40?

You can look up the specs for any tire you're considering, on the website of a dealer like the Tire Rack or the tire manufacturer, and it will show you the range of approved rim widths for every tire size, even ones that are absolutely wrong for your car.
