zc pistons in y8
ok... so yesterday someone told me i could get around 11.5:1cr in my y8 with jdm zc pistons. i was given this link: http://www.zealautowerks.com/dseries.html. i put in all my specs, and the zc pistons would yield about 12.69:1cr! i would have to use a head gasket about twice the thickness (0.070in) as my stock gasket (0.037in) to get close to 11.5:1cr. is that safe? will it put too much tension on my timing belt? also, i need someone to tell me whether or not these pistons will hit the valves. is there anything wrong with this setup? i plan on using my stock y8 crank and zc rods. (if it matters, i'm going with 0.020in overbore pistons as my cylinder walls may be scored)
it should be in all motor.. as far as clearing ... the valves SHOULD clear.. they have reliefs cut in the pistons
twice as thick? im not aware of a head gasket that is that much thicker than stock.. cometic may make a D series on that is that thick.. and a6 headgasket is almost 2x the stock thickness... but i dont belive that will work.. no hole for the oil port stuff etc
