Default DCRH problems! Fixed or Not?

So is the issue with the DCRH flex pipe, or any other issue they might have had been fixed or not. Should I ditch the RH and put my stock back on? What's up with this? Got mine put on about 3 weeks ago if that makes any difference, but it was ordered back in September.

Use it until it breaks.

Dc build quality is notorious for being horrible.
Not probably something they do.. but just because the majority of they money they make on EVERYTHING is by them being the "first out"

R&D is important to me... proves the quality to me....
Gains are awesome too ... but compare the comptech & the DC...
( i know ones a race header and the others a shorty )

but put them side by side and stare at them....

DC = ****
Comptech = quality welds etc

now on the GAIN side... DC>COMPTECH... BUT if its broke... where are the gains?

the bulk of lemmings run out.. buy everything on the first day... have tons of issues down the line and end up begging people to buy the products used for about 10-25% of what they paid for it.

This is why i try to do performance LAST...

I wait until ALL the kits, intakes, exhaust are out before i make a decision.
Let someone else get the rattles, cracks, creaks, bumps etc
I'll ONLY buy early if its an "insane deal"

They did fix the issue prior to September. However, you never know how long the distributor has had it for. They constantly restock their inventory as it is sold (per Corsportusa). I asked them a few months ago about this particular item. I am assuming all act pretty much the same way.

Fixed!!!!

I'm pretty sure it's been fixed. I've had mine on the car for about 4-5 months and put about 12,000 miles on it and haven't had any problems (Knock on wood). When I bought mine i asked the guy at AEM about the problem and if it was fixed and he said all the DCRH that were made after June 06' had the problem fixed already. (I'm sure they would tell this to anyone just to make a doller though)

Don't worry, a header will not cause your car to break down. It will still run, but will be SOOOOO loud you will want to die.

I don't want a ghetto car

Well I couldn't get a hold of DC...(figures). So i'll try later on. Good thing I kept the stock header setup just in case.

Some people are quick to judge a company that has more time into Honda than 95% of the others.

comptech is a stainless shorty header with minimal gains

AEM/DC is a mild steel race header that has proven good gains and a GREAT value. Hondata choose to tune using it, that has to say at least a little about it.

Over the years, DC headers (usually non-stainless) have broken over time. Being I work at an import shop, I see a lot of stuff come back. Are they junk? HELLL no. Did you pay TOP dollar? HELLL no... AEM/DC customers paid the least amount for a header out there (until pacesetter gets one..and THEY ARE JUNK), and expect it to be comparable to a stainless?!?!? For reliability, I will put DC's Stainless headers up against anything else.... Mild steel headers...well they are not designed to be as strong or last as long.... If you want the best, you will have to wait until TODA or another full race header in stainless comes out.

....and as far as AEM/DC always being the first out with stuff...well that has a lot to do with the fact that they get test vehicles first... I would be surprised to learn that ANYONE is above Honda/Acura's list when a new vehicle is released. I remember reading a long time ago, that people called Comptech and they were still waiting for a test car, while AEM/DC was almost ready to release their bolt on's.... So it isn't like they both got a Si from Honda on the same day, and Comptech put tons more testing/trial into a shorty header lol.....

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, AND IF YOU WANT TOP OF THE LINE $250-$350 FOR A HEADER IS NOT IT, SO DON'T EXPECT IT!

Hondata chose it because that is all that was out at the time. If you buy anything, you should expect some degree of quality. A broken weld is no excuse regardless of how much you paid.

and to add to this

DC isn't new.. you'd expect this from a "new" company much less something as established as DC...

its seems however they put profits > materials and craftsmanship

Well i called DC earlier and the guy says that they will "fix" it if there are any issues. But I have to send it to them. No thanx. If I have any issues i'm trashin this thing and never gettin anything even remotely related or associated (DC Sports) to AEM ever again.

Don't you have to get motor mounts inserts if you get race header so it doesn't crack?

I don't know about FG2's but for EP3s to minimize engine vibrations ppl recommend to get either motor mount inserts, torque dampner or race motor mounts

just my 2 cents
