Default rebuilding an F20B

i have an JDM f20b that im rebuilding, it seemed to have spun a rod bearing (2nd cylinder in from pass side) and i was wondering where i could get parts to rebuild it. i need all gaskets, rings, rod and main bearings.

is started to spin the one rod bearing but did no damage to the crank and rod, both were magnafluxed for cracks, and my machinist polished all the journals and everything looks good.

from what i remember with building the b-series motors the rods and mains use colors for the bearing thicknesses. how do i determine which i need? do i just measure the journal where the bearing is going to be and match the bearing to that size. what kind of bearing clearance is needed in these motors?

lastly can these liners be honed, there is no taper that was measurable, and i wanted to put new rings i while the motor was tore down. do i quickly run a hone through it or just slap the new rings in? also what it the end gap supposed to be on this motor

thank you

Just get a 'dingleberry' type hone and scuff the cylinder walls spinning it on a slow drill and moving it up and down while spraying WD-40 on the cylinder walls, like 5-10 passes per cylinder.

here's a PDF file about the bearings you can right click 'save as';

If it isn't what you need you can check my signature link.

What 'end gap' are you talking about??
I strongly recommend Honda parts.

i figured that i could hone it like that, but like my honda 450R mx machine i cant hone the cylinders because they are NiCaSil and the coating is very thin so all i do on that when i freshen it is just put rings in, no honing.

the end gap im referring to is the piston ring end gap, measured with the rings about 2" into the cylinder. it is measuring how far the ring ends are before they but together. too tight causing seizure, and too lose casuing blow by.

also is there a place that tells me my critical bearing clearances?

thanks

so like no one else has rebuilt an f20b?

since it is very similar to the H22a i thought maybe the clearances would be the same. does anyone have the critical dimensions for the h22?

by critical dimensions i mean bearing clearances and piston ring end gap

thanks
