Default WTB 6 speed for my JDM B18c5 w/ J4d LSD

Let's see if there is anyone out there that knows how this can be done and where I can get the parts. I know the new RSX Type S has, essentially the same motor as I do ... but to have that 6 speed ...IF the first 5 are the same and there is a TRUE overdrive to cut down the highway RPMs ... sweet! Any Ideas? Please e-mail me at indebag@mindspring.com

Do a K20A swap... You'll spend less money, than if you try to make a 6-Speed capatible with the B18C5.

But if you want to cut down on highway/higher speed RPM, purchase an ATS 5.077 Final Drive, and have it installed with an ATS 1.033 Fifth Gear. That should cut down on your highway crusing RPM... BWAHAHAHAHAHA.

Years ago there was an Austrailan company that made a 6th forward gear for a b-series tranny. It did replace the reverse gear though. I'm not sure if they are still around or if I still have their info. Why do you need a 6th gear? Can you actually hit rev limiter in 5th gear?

Hey Gator, If you don't understand what those basic numbers are about, you will never get close enough to one to see it.... well maybe the tail lights ... but if you DO it only be for a second, from an ever expanding distance and VERY blurry. LMFAO

^ What the F*ck are you talking about?

I don't think anyone understands your "basic numbers"... And what numbers are you talking about anyway? I don't see any numbers, I just see a slew of words thrown into a few sentences that don't mean ****.

when you have " WTB 6 speed for my JDM B18c5 w/ J4d LSD"

b series and k series are two completely different things...

Exactly. It might be REMOTELY possible, if the powertrains weren't inverted. i.e The Transmission sits on the passenger side of DC2s, where as K-Series Transmissions sit on the driver side. Just had to clarify for prodigy.

Yes, it's called a K20 swap.

Other than that, I suppose if you really wanted to stay with B-Series, the only way to go about it would to have a custom gearbox made. Which if you know anything about that, it's not cheap. Like I said, it would be less costly/more practical to do a K20 swap.

^ The Bellhousing is the part of the Transmission that goes in between the engine, and the actual Transmission casing. The casing holds the internals, the only thing that's inside the Bellhousing is the Flywheel/Clutch/Throwout Bearing.

k-series are transversed motors. good luck trying to mate that with your b-series. just get a k-20a2 and you're set.

... So are B-Series. Transverse just means the powertrain is aligned with the front wheels.

Default K-20 swap

Thanks for all the replies ... well, except for a few ... I am thrilled with the swap I completed 200 HP in a 2200 lb car and the full size car AC and radiator from an Integra Type R works VERY VERY well in a Del Sol. Now I want to get a six speed for it. Please ... let's hear from some people that can actually help me make this happen. Thanks

Well he could import the trans from Japan, then the trans would be on the
right side.

Um, why do you need 6 speeds?

If you must have one, Quaife's 32G will work with a B-series motor. It will not be streetable. Oh yeah, it's also $18,995.
